Hello! I'm
Sarah Fry and I organize the Childrens' program at DPCC. Children
are very, very important to the church. We
want children to have a positive experience learning about God and faith. Therefore,
the ministry is both fun and informative. The
goal is that the children will learn to love God and love others as well
as establish a biblical moral foundation which will serve them well especially
in the teen years when peer pressure tends to be the greatest. The
ministry consists of:
The Sunday School program for children utilizes crafts, games and Bible stories to introduce children up to the age of about 12 to the Christian faith. The program is geared toward the age of the child involved.
The children are also invited to join the adults for a song during the church service and/or a little lesson. Then typically they leave to go to their Sunday school program in the next room.
The Sunday School program runs concurrently with the church service.
Our church has a Child Protection Policy in place.
For about a half hour before the church service, games are organized for the children in the hall (from about 4pm - 4:30pm). These games are often designed so that the children have the opportunity to run and engage in play to "burn off all that energy"! This play time is adult-supervised.
Creche care for infants is available upon request. Just contact us and let us know you will need creche care.
Sarah Fry is the Director of Childrens' Ministry. Sarah has a degree in elementary education and has served as chairperson of the Jack n Jill preschool. She also ran her own Tiny Talk classes for children which involves singing and signing with infants and children in a fun way! Sarah has had experience dealing with various ages of children in various settings.
